Categorizing Objects by Size
In science, we often categorize objects by size:
- we say that an object is submicroscopic in size if it is too small to be seen using an optical microscope,
- we say that an object is microscopic if it is large enough to be seen with a microscope but too small to be seen with the naked eye, and
- we say that an object is macroscopic if it is large enough to be seen with the naked eye.
