Heat is Transfer of Thermal Energy
Heat is defined as a transfer of thermal energy due to a difference in temperature. Thermal energy in the form of heat spontaneously flows only from higher temperature to lower temperature. This does not mean that thermal energy can't be forced to flow from low temperature to high, but to do so, an input of energy is required.
