Please read BEFORE beginning: I have placed some notes to the left of the Museum of Science instructions you see below. Some of the notes are intended to clarify the instructions in the Museum of Science document, and some of the notes are slight alterations to the instructions given in the document. Make sure you read my notes carefully.
Materials note: The simple object should be 6 - 8 inches in height, instead of 10 - 12 inches tall. Procedure #2 note: You can use a ruler or yard stick instead of a tape measure. In addition, when collecting data for ANY scientific experiment, you should ALWAYS be consistent in your measurements. Procedure #3 note: The index card should stick out 10 inches from the edge of the table. Procedure #5 note: Make sure that the zero on the ruler is aligned exactly with the top of the table. Procedure #6 notes: In this step, you are to move the object 10 inches away FROM the EDGE of the TABLE. In addition, do NOT use the "Data Sheet" link in the instructions at the right. Click HERE to open our data table. Procedure #8 note: Don't skip this step. Each team should submit 2 sets of data. You do NOT need to complete the sections entitled "Analyzing the Results" and "Drawing Conclusions;" we will do our own analysis on when we move on. |
