Let's Make Some Observations Lab Activity
Page 10 of 10
So far, we have made observations using only two of our five senses (vision and hearing). Now, we are going to make some observations using more of our senses.
When we are all ready, we will go outside. (Online Students: You may go outside right now; you do not need to wait for the rest of us!) Once outside, you should find a place to sit quietly.
When you are outside, make as many observations about your surroundings as possible, and record your observations in the "Outdoor Observations" document LINKED BELOW. While observing, you should concentrate on making good scientific observations, not inferences. Remember: Good scientific observations involve as many of the five senses as possible and as many details as possible.
Note: Feel free to scroll around in the "Outdoor Observations" document to see observations made by other students from this semester and previous semesters.
Click HERE to open the "Outdoor Observations" document. You will use the document to list your outdoor observations. Enjoy your time outside! Note: If the weather does not cooperate, you may make your observations indoors.
