We have chosen to use equation number five shown in the list at the right because it contains only those quantities we know and the thing we want to know (our goal).
If you look back at the problem statement, you will see that we were asked to find the acceleration of the upper eyelid. Thus, our goal is acceleration, and we should solve equation number five for acceleration and eliminate any terms which are equal to zero before we plug in what we know.
