Motion Lab Activity
Familiarize yourself with "The Moving Man" simulation by dragging the man around with your mouse. You should see a blue Position Versus Time graph being produced and a red Velocity Versus Time graph being produced for the man's motion. Click the pause button at the bottom of the screen when you want to stop the graphs from being made. Next, select the "Playback" option at the bottom of the screen, and compare his motion with the graphs produced by his motion. Click on the "Clear" button at the bottom of the screen to clear the man's graphs.
After clearing the graphs, adjust the blue slider on the left-hand side of the Position Versus Time up or down to whatever value you would like. Do the same with the red slider on the left-hand side of the Velocity Versus Time graphs to move the man around. Then, push the play button at the bottom of the screen. You might see the moving man start moving (depending on the settings you chose), and you will see two graphs being produced for the man's motion. Finally, select the "Playback" option at the bottom of the screen, and compare his motion with the graphs that his motion produces.
