So far in this course, we have neglected wind resistance, but sometimes we are unable to do that. For instance, when you stick your hand out of the window of a speeding car, you can feel wind pushing back on your hand. This is wind resistance, and in this case wind resistance most certainly cannot be neglected. In general, if an object is traveling through the atmosphere at a HIGH SPEED, we cannot neglect wind resistance. One interesting result of wind resistance is terminal velocity, and we can understand terminal velocity if we understand Newton's Second Law of Motion.
