Newton's Three Laws of Motion Lab Activity

Isaac Newton is my favorite physicist, and I'm sure he is yours, too. I like him, in part, because he laid the foundation for basically all of classical physics. He studied such concepts as motion, force, mathematics, gravitation, temperature, and light, just to name a few. |

In this lab activity, we will discuss Newton's Three Laws of Motion. Isaac Newton is probably most well-known for these three little laws which describe forces and the results of those forces.
I also like Isaac Newton because he was a fallible human being. While Isaac Newton was a prodigious mathematician and scientist, he was by most accounts a rather difficult person to be around (and, I'm trying to be nice here). He was known for a few bitter professional rivalries. One of his worst and longest-lived rivalries was with another physicist named Robert Hooke. Click HERE to learn a little bit about Isaac Newton and about his rivalry with Hooke.
