Position is a Vector Quantity
Position is a vector quantity. This means that in order to completely express the position of an object, we need to include a number, a unit or units, and a direction.
In the image at the right, my position relative to the sign is 2 meters up and to the right. Not only must my position include a number (2) and a unit (meters), but my position must also include a direction (up and to the right). |
