Speed is a Scalar Quantity
|
Speed is a scalar quantity. In other words, you do not need to include a direction when you express an object's speed. You probably already express speed in the proper way (without a direction). For instance, if a police officer pulls you over and asks you how fast you were going before you were stopped, you tell him 55 miles per hour; you don't give him a direction because speed doesn't have a direction.
