- OPTIONAL: Read "The SI System of Units-" In our class, we will discuss several quantities and the SI units associated with the quantities. In addition, we will regularly work problems which require unit conversion. If you are not familiar with unit conversions, you should read this section carefully BEFORE moving on to this week's assignments. Ask questions if you have them.
- Read "Measurement and Error-" due at 11:30 a.m. C.T. on Sunday, August 31.
- Read "Position, Distance, and Displacement-" due at 11:30 a.m. C.T. on Sunday, August 31.
- Complete the "Measurement and Error/Position, Distance, and Displacement Reading Quiz-" due at 11:30 a.m. C.T. on Sunday, August 31. Instructions: This quiz is open-book and open-note, and you may work with your classmates and may attempt it as many times as you would like. Note: You will not be allowed to complete and/or submit the written assignments for this section until you earn 80% on this reading quiz.
- Complete the "Measurement and Error/Position, Distance, and Displacement Homework-" due at 11:30 a.m. C.T. on Sunday, August 31. Instructions: This homework is open-book and open-note, and you may work with your classmates and may attempt it as many times as you would like.
